Exploring caves in northern Mexico

To do bat conservation we need to identify the caves with the highest priority in terms of abundance, richness, irreplaceability, and so on. We have sampled thousands of bats in hundreds of caves. You can join!

Pollinating bats in Mexico

Their populations are decreasing. We are studying their foraging preferences and doing conservation interventions in their roosts.

Studying endemic bats

Within the coolest endemic bats are Corynorhinus leonpaniaguae, Myotis planiceps. We are understanding their roosts and protecting them.

Bat Urban Ecology

We have the biggest project of bat boxes in Mexico. We are studying the temperature preferences and acoustic activity in the surrounding areas of the boxes!

Hibernating bats and their diseases

Northern bats could be vulnerable to the Whit-Nose Syndrome. We are investigating their ecology to prevent the spread of the disease.
